Working on one thing at a time, for as long as you need to or feel like it, is a luxury.

In my last post, I mentioned that I have started a publishing company focused on short ebooks. Since I post a short ebook recommendation once a week, and it is extremely unlikely that I will ever approach that frequency in publishing short ebooks, I intend to keep running Tungsten Hippo, with the small change that I’ve added disclosures to my recommendations now. All of this is old news, from the last blog post.
The actual new news is that my company’s first book by someone other than me is now ready for pre-order. Unspotted, by Justin Fox, is the story of the elusive and endangered Cape Mountain Leopard and the man who has made it his life’s work to save it. It is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and GumRoad. I’ll be adding other retailers soon, so if you want to buy it somewhere else, that should be possible soon. However, the GumRoad pre-order includes both the MOBI and the ePub file, so it should cover most ereaders.
I am very excited to get this book released. It is exactly the sort of thing I want to publish. Or, more accurately, one of the sorts of things I want to publish. It is an interesting and well-told story about something I knew nothing about. It is fun to read, and left me feeling like I’d learned some new things. I’ll obviously posting it as my recommendation for the week it comes out- duh, I liked it enough to pay the author an advance, pay an editor, pay a cover designer, and the spend a fair amount of time working on the formatting, of course I like it enough to recommend it! But you don’t have to wait for my recommendation. Feel free to pre-order it today.
